Let’s continue our discussion about jealousy and envy and how to instantly overcome both.

I’m using the information marketing business as metaphor and example. We could just as easily be talking about schucking everything, moving to the Bahamas and opening a resort. Or becoming a bestselling author. Or losing 50 pounds. Or making an extra million dollars this year.

My point is, simply, if someone can do it, why not you?

Dr. Paul Searby went from barely making a good living as a dentist, working 40 to 50 hours a week, to making more money in a month than he did all year, working two days a week in the information business. I know Paul well and, no disrespect intended, there’s no innate or genetic edge, no personal attribute that you might lack. Yes, he’s studied and worked hard for a handful of years, made himself a good copywriter, had a couple false starts before hitting it big. But that’s nothing you can’t do

If he can, why not you too?

Bill Glazer went into the family retail business and successfully ran menswear stores before coming into the information marketing business “cold”. Only a few years later, he went on to having a multi-million dollar a year info-business enjoying continuous, rapid growth, encompassing online and offline marketing, niche and mainstream markets. He had no relevant experience.

If he can, why not you too?

Jeff Kaller was a short order cook, Ron LeGrand a car mechanic. Ron’s info-businesses produced over 25-million dollars last year. He even bought his own private jet.

Jerry Jones was merely putting out a newsletter for dentists; to having a high-priced coaching program, a complete ‘do it for them’ direct-mail company. (He’s also doing huge real estate deals.)

You know Yanik Silver as an internet marketer. But he’s quickly built an amazing coaching/services business, providing marketing to cosmetic surgeons — a program that sells for $96,000.00 per person.

No, he’s never been a surgeon.

If they can, why not you? I developed the most successful marketing newsletter business on earth.

I’m a high school grad, I’ve been bankrupt, I’ve zero professional credentials. If I can, why not you?

This is how you MUST think. About everything. There’s no reason not to. Do NOT disqualify yourself. From anything.

In my last post, I spoke about the need for business to invest as much time, effort and money in fostering quality and products and customer service as they do in advertising.

In every aspect of business, the winning leaders demonstrate a profound Bias For Action.

That means they have and foster a sense of urgency and are all about keeping pace with tomorrow, not fighting to preserve yesterday.

I’ve seen companies take months to make rather trivial decisions and I think speed is a factor in business success and the speed that a marketing idea makes it from impulse to implementation has a lot to do with that company’s bottom line.

One of Murphy’s Laws says that everything takes longer and costs more than originally projected and I’m afraid that’s true.

But I believe it’s the role of the leader of the business to push, push and push some more to keep the elapsed time between impulse and implementation to the shortest possible number of minutes.

I really believe in the time management concept that says work expands to fill the time available and that principle will kill you if you aren’t careful.

It’s the positive pressure of tight deadlines and high expectations that get and keep a business into high gear.

On Monday, we’re going to talk about profit management and the motivation to be in the business you are in.

In case you’re wondering, Karen and I don’t indulge too often. We just don’t find we need to spend money frivolously and we have a very happy life with our 2-children and Chocolate Lab…Homer.

We do like to take a least one nice trip every year. We’ve practically traveled all over the world.

But one thing that I had wanted for some time is a Porsche and a couple of years ago I picked up my dream car, a brand new custom made Porsche Carrera 4S and while I was signing the paperwork, Rachel Day, who is the dealership’s Financial Services Advisor asked me a question that I hate getting…but I get it asked often.

She asked…

“What do you do?”

The problem is, this is NO easy answer to give people. I could say that I am a Publisher (I publish three newsletters), Business Consultant, Professional Speaker, Professional Copywriter, or a Business Coach.

But the real answer to that question is that I’m really an Information Marketer, which nobody outside our world understands because the term was made up (and the Industry largely invented) by Dan Kennedy.

So, I thought I’d talk to you in this post about Information Marketing and tell you a little bit about this wonderful profession that is leading so many of our Members to financial freedom.

First of all…what is Information Marketing? The best definition that I have ever heard is that you identify a responsive market with high interest in a particular group of topics and expertise, then package together information and services that matches that interest.

So, if you have some sort of core expertise that you think others can benefit from, there is no better time to jump into this highly profitable business because people are literally screaming for it.

Why? Because it is fueled by the ever-increasing pressure on people’s time to receive information in a convenient way and what we are discovering is that they are willing to pay just about anything for it.

For example, here’s just a partial list of just about every imaginable topic that you can provide information about:

Gardening

Real Estate

Yoga For Golfers

Investing In Tax Lien Certificates

Extreme Fitness

Persuasive Voice Skills For Business

How To Get Women To Approach You

How To Make Money On eBay

Better Sex

Teaching Parrots To Talk

Niche Marketing Systems For EVERY Category Of Business

Etc. etc. etc. etc.

Hopefully you get the idea.

There’s other reasons why this business is so attractive and why so many of our members are jumping into it.

First of all, it can be the perfect sideline to your existing business. In fact, the first 4-years that I was providing my BGS Marketing System, I ran it from the back room of my downtown retail store.

In addition, this business allows you to replace manual labor with multiplying and leveraging what you already know. If you prefer, it requires a very small amount of interaction with buyers, a small staff, and a small investment in inventory.

In fact, it can even be operated from your home and is often a great business to retire to. Oh, did I mention that you can make a lot of money which allows you to take the trips of your dreams, send your kids to the best colleges and even pay cash for a Porsche 911 if you chose to.

If this business sounds interesting to you, then I suggest you join me at this year’s Info Marketing Summit.
