Cracking the Code of Google’s Newest Ranking Factor

By: Brian Horn on: May 12th, 2010 7 Comments

A few weeks ago, Google announced a new factor in the algorithm they use to rank websites in their search results…”site load speed”.

Basically, site load speed is how fast your site loads up in a browser. So if you have lots if images and videos, your site load speed could be slow. They consider this a negative factor because someone coming to your site from a Google search result don’t want to wait 10-20 seconds for a site to load up. They would hit the “Back” button and look for a different result.

The cool thing is…this is the EASIEST thing to fix possible.

I’m gonna show you a quick modification you can make to your site to drastically improve your site load speed, and therefore improve your site’s ranking in Google.

Take a gander, and leave me a comment below.

    thank you Brian

That’s a good point, Brian. I am checking out several plugins: W3 Total Cache and WP-Cache. It looks like I will eventually go with WP-Cache, because none of my websites are designed for multiple users.

  7. Ahhh… Where did “the good old days” go, when we used our dial-up modems and routinely waited minutes for web pages to load?

Now Google is incorporating the amazing lack of patience we’ve developed thanks to the speed of information…

Thanks for keeping us on top of the latest inside “secrets”, Brian!
