You run a great blog with lots of content but it’s rare that anyone comments on your blog posts. You need to run your blog a certain way if you want readers to take the time to leave their comments.
Increasing the comments on your blog can also give it a HUGE boost in the search engines. Google sees that people are interacting and assumes it is relevant and quality content.
Follow the tips below to get your readers involved on a steady basis. It’s never too late to start an interactive blog.
Shorten Your Blog Posts
There are many bloggers who write a full-length article for each of their blog posts. You risk losing a reader’s attention in the middle of the post if it’s too lengthy. A great tip would be to break up the article into different posts. Welcome your readers back at the end of each blog post with what you will be blogging about the next day. For example, you can end a post with “Make sure to come back tomorrow and find out why you’re killing all your indoor houseplants!” Create excitement on the niche you blog about and readers will take the time to comment on what you’ve written.
Ask Your Readers a Question
Many bloggers ramble on when they write up a blog post. Sometimes there is no meaning behind a post and most readers can see that. You’re not going to get a response from your readers if there is no connection with them. You need to invite your readers to leave their opinions and comments regarding each blog post. Ask your readers a question that involves them in the blog post that you’ve written. For example, if you are blogging about organic cocktails, ask your readers about their tried and true recipes. Make sure to leave this question stand alone at the bottom of your post. Most readers will respond if a blogger invites their comments.
Be Consistent With Posting
Readers notice if you are not consistent with your blog. There is no reason a reader should subscribe to your blog if you only blog a couple times a month. Readers want to subscribe to a blog that is filled with great content and consistency. A consistent blog means more blog comments by your readers. If a reader notices you haven’t blogged since last month, they will most likely not leave any comments.
Always Respond Back To Readers
A good blogger will interact with his or her audience on a daily basis. It will benefit you to respond back to comments left by readers. This encourages an interactive community and will gain you more subscribers. Always visit the blogs of readers and take the time to leave your own comments.
